Program Schedule:
  • Arrival Day, Sunday: Volunteers arrive at Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur. They will be transferred to their accommodation in the city center. An evening orientation will introduce volunteers to the local culture, the community, and the program activities.
  • Day 1, Monday: The first day will include a cultural introduction to Udaipur. Volunteers will visit major historical landmarks like the City Palace, Lake Pichola, Jag Mandir, and the famous Saheliyon-ki-Bari. In the afternoon, they will receive an introduction to their volunteer tasks, which could include working with local communities or assisting in heritage conservation efforts.
  • Days 2-3, Tuesday & Wednesday: Volunteers will participate in hands-on conservation and heritage preservation activities. This could include maintaining the historical integrity of monuments like the City Palace or Jag Mandir, contributing to the restoration of artwork, or assisting in the maintenance of Udaipur’s natural beauty, such as lake cleaning and preserving surrounding gardens. Volunteers will also engage in local art and craft workshops, learning about Udaipur’s famous miniature paintings and marble carving.
  • Day 4, Thursday: The focus will shift to community outreach. Volunteers will engage in educational programs in local schools, where they will support teaching, create awareness about hygiene and health, or assist in skill development for women. Volunteers may also help in rural development programs, promoting sustainable agriculture and water management practices in nearby villages.
  • Day 5, Friday: Volunteers will participate in environmental sustainability projects. These could include water conservation programs, tree plantation drives, waste management initiatives, and eco-tourism promotion. Volunteers will learn about Udaipur’s ecological challenges and contribute to improving the city’s sustainability through these activities.
  • Days 6-7, Saturday & Sunday: Weekends are free for volunteers to explore Udaipur:
    • Lake Pichola & Boat Ride: Volunteers can take a boat ride on Lake Pichola, visiting Jag Mandir and enjoying the views of Udaipur’s palaces from the water.
    • City Palace Tour: A guided tour of the City Palace, one of Rajasthan’s architectural gems, is included, offering insight into the city’s royal history.
    • Explore the Old City: Wander through the narrow streets of Udaipur’s old city, experiencing its vibrant markets, local food, and artisan shops.
    • Cultural Events: Depending on the time of year, volunteers can participate in local festivals such as the Mewar Festival or Gangaur, experiencing the region’s traditional dance, music, and customs.
